Bell quits British Land CFO role

One of the property industry’s most powerful women has quit her role as chief financial officer (CFO) of British Land.

Lucinda Bell, who took up the position in May 2011, will leave the UK property giant next April, and the company has launched a search for her successor.

Bell said: “After a long career with British Land including the last six years as CFO, I have decided to step down and leave next year.

“It has been a privilege and a pleasure to contribute to the success of British Land as it has transitioned into a modern, strategically focussed REIT.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working for such an exceptional company and with so many talented people”

Chris Grigg, chief executive of British Land, added: “We wish Lucinda well for the future and thank her for her significant contribution to the company over her time at British Land. As CFO she has been instrumental in strengthening the balance sheet and reorganising our finances so we have a strong platform for the future. I am pleased that she will continue to play an active role as we prepare an orderly handover to her successor.”
