Net outflows from Henderson fund hit £860m last year

The Henderson UK Property fund suffered net outflows of £860m during 2016, the annual accounts of Henderson Group revealed this morning.

The size of the fund, which was one of the retail funds that had to temporarily suspend trading last July in the wake of redemptions following the EU referendum, shrank to £3.2bn by the end of December last year.

The fund re-opened in October after selling a number of its assets including Ryder Court in London’s Mayfair to Chinese developer Vanke for £115m and Coutts’ headquarters at 440 Strand to The Royal Bank of Scotland.
