
The BBC has selected Stanhope as preferred bidder to buy its Television Centre site in West London.
The developer has been chosen to develop the White City scheme, from a shortlist including Sir Stuart Lipton’s Chelsfield Partners and Resolution Property.
The site was last valued in 2007 at £200m. Stanhpe is throught to have paid close to this.
The 14 acre site was put up for sale last June and has the capacity for around 1.5m sq ft of development.
The BBC, which is advised by Lambert Smith-Hampton, is offloading is as part of its strategy to downsize its property portfolio and relocate operations to Salford, Greater Manchester.
Stanhope declined to comment.
