CBRE appoints new head of Aberdeen

CBRE has appointed a new head of its Aberdeen office.

Derren McRae has been promoted from the role of associate director to managing director.

McRae, 32, came 66th in Property Week’s Hot 100 last month – a survey of the upcoming stars in the property industry. He joined CBRE in 2009 from Scottish retail agency Culverwell.

The counter-cyclical market in Aberdeen, driven by oil, gas and energy markets has made the Aberdeen office a crucial part of CBRE’s UK business in recent years.

CBRE bought the office in 2008 when it was Paul Gee & Co. Gee, the former managing director of the business, is still working at the office on a consultancy basis.
