Knight Frank has recruited Michael Brownsdon to introduce a new capital allowances service to the business.
Brownsdon joins as a partner having previously worked at Savills for three and a half years as capital allowances associate director.
The new capital allowances offering will support both occupiers on fit out and refurbishment expenditure and investors on their acquisitions and disposals.
The service will be headed up by Brownsdon, who will report to head of project and building consultancy Andrew Bugg.
Brownsdon said: “I am delighted to have joined Knight Frank, whose client centred approach to giving professional advice is particularly well suited to the complex area of capital allowances.
“Knight Frank’s ethos of maximising client value over the long term is something which sets them apart from their competitors.”
Alongside this, Knight Frank has recruited Kathryn Day to its project and building consultancy department as an associate. Day was previously a senior surveyor at Deloitte where she spent 10 years.
She will be joining the building surveying team based in London to manage relationships with clients transferred to the Knight Frank property asset management team earlier this year and work for fund clients. She will report to Merrick Rimmer, head of building consultancy.
Finally, Alasdair Jamieson has also joined the Knight Frank project and building consultancy team in London as a building surveyor. Jamieson joins from Cushman & Wakefield where he spent three years working in the Glasgow based project management and consultancy team.
