Kontor poaches CBRE rising star

Rising star Walé Sanusi has left CBRE to join the tenant representation team at Kontor.

Sanusi, who won Property Week’s Young Personality of the Year award in 2016 along with colleague Sammy Kingston, has been a trainee surveyor at CBRE for the past three and a half years.

In 2014 he co-founded The Apprentice Network, which organises events for those at the start of their property careers and has been widely supported by the sector.

Kontor specialises in finding office space for clients in the creative, media and technology sectors across Europe. Its founders, Luke Appleby and James Townsend, are also CBRE alumni.

Commenting on his appointment, Sanusi said: “I’m delighted to be joining the Kontor team. I really admire the firm that Luke and James have built and can’t wait to get involved in finding the coolest workspaces across Europe.”

Sanusi will report to Gavin Kamara, head of transactions, and will continue to study for his APC with the firm.

Townsend added: “independent thinkers like Walé will spur the industry on to throw away out-dated working practices and start to understand what the workforce of today is seeking in a workspace.”
