Mowgli makes Birmingham debut at Grand Central

Indian street food restaurant Mowgli has chosen Hammerson’s Grand Central to open its debut restaurant in Birmingham.

The new 3,918 sq ft restaurant will be located in the casual dining area of Grand Central, alongside Pho and Tapas Revolution.

Founded in 2014, Mowgli currently has a presence in Liverpool and Manchester, serving authentic Indian cuisine made by handpicked chefs trained by the restaurant’s founder and food writer Nisha Katona.

Since its launch in 2015, Grand Central has established itself as a leading retail and dining offer in Birmingham built directly above New Street Station with anchor tenants including John Lewis, Jo Malone, White Company and Cath Kidston.

Sarah Fox, head of restaurants and leisure at Hammerson, said “Mowgli is a perfect addition to the line-up at Grand Central, significantly strengthening and diversifying the food and beverage offer at the centre.

“Grand Central has a varied retail tenant mix, highly complementary to the extensive range of brands at Bullring next door, and with the addition of Mowgli, we are enhancing the dining offer to match, delivering a greater choice for customers throughout the day and into the evening.”
