Decathlon teams up with Fashion Hub for Olympics media centre

Sports retailer Decathlon has joined forces with rival bidder UK Fashion Hub in a bid to occupy the Olympics media centre.

Decathlon withdrew its bid to be the long-term tenant of the 1m sq ft building in April but is now looking to occupy just part of it alongside the fashion operation.

It has 12 stores in the UK and the centre would be the base from which it would instigate an expansion plan.
The duo are up against iCITY and Loughborough University. In this case it would be used for a data centre and a 90,000 sq ft postgraduate sports facility.

A decision as to who will occupy the building is expected to be made by the London Legacy Development Corporation next month.
