Discount clothing retailer Primark is to open its flagship store on London’s Oxford Street today. Daily Telegraph
The former Allders department store at 499/517 Oxford Street is near Marble Arch, which retail experts perceive to be the ‘wrong end’ of the famous shopping street, and is relatively quiet compared to the Oxford Circus end where shoppers swarm.
Before Allders, which went bust two years ago, owned the store, it was occupied by C&A, the chain that quit the UK after suffering years of losses.
