Leading property researcher Paul McNamara is retiring from the Prudential after 25 years at its property fund management arm.
McNamara’s successor as head of property research at Prupim from 1 October will be his deputy, Richard Gwilliam.
“Richard has made a great impact since joining Prupim six years ago,” said Prupim managing director Martin Moore. “As part of our succession planning he was appointed as Paul’s deputy some time ago. He is clearly Paul’s natural successor and I know he will contribute significantly to Prupim in his new role.”
Moore paid tribute to McNamara’s careers: “Paul has made an exceptional contribution to both the property industry in general and our business in particular over the years, building our highly regarded research capability and extending its reach globally to support our UK and international portfolios,” he said.
“He has also led the development of commercial property derivatives to manage risk and, most recently, spearheaded internal and external understanding of sustainable investment in commercial property. He will be missed but we wish him the very best in his retirement.”
