Staycity Aparthotels has poached easyHotel’s head of development Neil Short to take on a London-focused role at the aparthotel operator.
Short, who was previously development manager at Travelodge for eight years before leaving in early 2016, will head London sourcing and development at Staycity.
He will be working closely with Simon Walford, who is responsible for development across the UK.
Before joining Travelodge, Short was acquisitions director at pub company JD Wetherspoon - a role he held for seven years.
The aparthotel operator has just under 2,000 rooms in the UK and Europe across 18 properties, and wants to increase that to 15,000 rooms by 2022.
This will involve around 50 additional properties being developed.
