Student accommodation provider Student Cribs has recruited Matilda Macpherson as portfolio manager and promoted James Wragg to head of digital.
Having secured £200m in fundraising last year, Student Cribs is targeted an expanded portfolio of student properties nationwide and the duo will lead on operational and digital management of the sites.
Macpherson joins Student Cribs from Mayfair-based agency VanHan, where she has worked as head of lettings while her previous roles include two years’ experience as a property consultant at Knight Frank.
Wragg is moving into the management team having joined Student Cribs in 2015 after graduating from the University of Brighton. He also completed the Google-affiliated Squared Online programme which focuses on digital marketing and digital transformation ahead of the promotion.
Student Cribs chief executive Charlie Vaughan-Lee said: “These appointments will greatly strengthen our team. Matilda Macpherson brings a wealth of experience to the role. James Wragg has spent the last two years developing our digital marketing strategy alongside strengthening internal processes between the marketing and sales department through the implementation of internally built software. His promotion will allow him to implement systems throughout other departments and further develop Student Crib’s existing digital competitive advantage.”
Research from student halls search engine Mystudenthalls has shown the increase in popularity of purpose built student accommodation over the past year with an 80% increase in visitors searching for private student accommodation compared to 2016.
