Knight Frank has poached Sam Waterworth and Will Lund from Cushman & Wakefield to join its expanding retail investment team.
Waterworth will join as an associate, focussing on high street investments, while Lund joins as a qualified surveyor, continuing his work in the shopping centre sector. Knight Frank has acted on 60% of shopping centre and outlet mall deals completed so far this year including £150m acquisition of 50% of Southside Shopping Centre in Wandsworth for Invesco and the £332m acquisition of the Hermes Outlet Mall portfolio for Land Securities.
Charlie Barke, head of shopping centre and high street investment at Knight Frank, said: “We are pleased to welcome Sam and Will, two rising stars of the retail agency world, into our thriving capital markets team. We have enjoyed a good run of success recently and have a number of exciting new projects on the horizon”.
The two new hires follow Knight Frank announcing 102 promotions across their various teams with 54 staff stepping up to partner and 48 to associate.
They include new hotels partner Jonathan Critchley, who joined as an associate in 2013 having worked as a surveyor in the agency team at CBRE previously, and new student property partners James Woolley and Sarah Jones.
Senior partner and group chairman Alistair Elliott said: “As embodied in our Group Strategy we will continue to focus on developing talent and leadership throughout the firm, recruiting and training the best people so that they reach even greater heights for themselves and for our clients. These promotions recognise that we will always develop and promote those who are exceptional at providing advice and creating deals. I am delighted for them all and thank them for their continued dedication to the business.”
