London’s high-quality residential (HQR) development community has shaken off the downward sales trend to deliver a bumper £108,000 sum for a trio of charities.

HQR Summer Ball

In the second year of the HQR Summer Ball, industry heavyweights from the likes of Walter Lilly, Bond Davidson, Deconstruct and Sizebreed more than doubled last year’s fundraising total to provide £100,000 to construction industry charity The Lighthouse Club and mental health charity YoungMinds, as well as a further £8,000 on the night for the Grenfell Tower fund.

“At the end of the auction we had just over £92,000. Then an extraordinary thing happened,” said founder and trustee Andrew Crispin. “Jack Pindora from Pacestar put his hand in his pocket and delivered the £7,680 we needed to get over £100,000.”

Plans for 2018 are under way and Metropolis wouldn’t bet against HQR doubling up again.
