The team at JLL Scotland had a chance to test their reactions last week against Paralympic table tennis champion Will Bayley.
Bayley (pictured, centre), who won gold in the table tennis at the Paralympics in Rio last year and is sponsored by JLL, paid a visit to the firm’s Glasgow office to talk about his path to becoming the best player in the world and to teach guests a lesson with the paddle.
Alasdair Humphery, lead director at JLL Scotland, said that hearing about the challenges Bayley overcame, from being born with arthrogryposis in all four limbs to suffering from cancer as a child, “served as inspiration to us all”.
“His emphasis on respect and resilience, in particular, is a message that has resonated with our own team,” he added.
It’s fair to say that Bayley proved a hit - even among those he hit off the table.
